HOTEL INFORMATION
Rooms have been reserved for October 2-8, 2013, at the conference headquarters, the Raleigh Marriott City Center, 500 Fayetteville Street, Raleigh, NC 27601. Telephone: 1-919-833-1120 or 1-800-228-9290. The special rate for the FASA conference is $129 plus tax, single or double, per night. The rate can be extended before and/or after the conference when making reservations. Be sure to mention the Folk Art Society Conference to receive this special block rate.
New Hotel Information
Rooms have also been reserved at the nearby Clarion/Holiday Inn, 320 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, NC 27603. Telephone: 1-919-832-0501. The special rate for the FASA conference is $99 per night, plus tax, with free parking. Be sure to mention the Folk Art Society to receive this special rate. Buses for tours will stop at both hotels each way.

Book early, as the number of rooms in these blocks is limited, and room availability cannot be guaranteed. The Folk Art Society will neither handle nor be responsible for hotel reservations, which must be made directly with the hotels, using a credit card to guarantee.
Transportation Information
The closest airport is Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). Transportation is available from the airport by Super-Shuttle for $40 one-way, reservations required: 919-741-2004.
On-site valet parking at the Marriott hotel is available for $22 per day. Off-site parking available for $12 per day. FASA is providing bus transportation from the hotel to all outside events for registrants of the conference. A variety of restaurants and shops is located within walking distance of the hotels.
Please note: The Folk Art Society conference is filled each day with back-to-back programming that requires physical stamina. Conference attendees must be in good physical condition to manage multiple steps, inclines, and frequent boarding and exiting buses. The Folk Art Society cannot accept liability of individuals not able to manage these activities.
For those driving their own cars to events, the ticket price will be the same as for those riding the buses. [Please notify the leaders if you are NOT riding the bus.] Tickets and registration badges are REQUIRED for admission to all events of the conference.
