| No hotel shuttle is provided from the airports. Parking is available for $18 per day. FASA is providing bus transportation from the hotel to all outside events for registrants of the conference. A wide variety of restaurants and shops is within easy walking distance.
For those driving their own cars to events, the ticket price will be the same as for those riding the buses. [Please notify the leaders if you are not riding the bus.] Tickets and registration badges are required for admission to all events of the conference. |
| We are requesting that each attendee at the conference bring one, two or more "suitcase-size" art works to the conference, and these objects will be placed in a silent or live auction on Friday afternoon at the Renaissance M Street Hotel. The same requests apply as in the past [see below]. Please bring or mail information about your objects, including artists name, home town, medium, size, etc.
***Please note: If you are planning to mail your items, regardless of size, please send them by UPS, FedEx or USPO to the attention of Betty-Carol Sellen, 6036 Parkers Creek Drive, Deale, MD 20751, between September 1 and September 15. Please include the above information (artists name, home town, medium, size) for each object.*** |
| The Folk Art Society will not accept donated objects with a reserve or minimum bid, and all donated objects will be sold regardless of price achieved. The Folk Art Society does not guarantee that the auction sale price will meet donor expectations or suggested price range.
The list of donors will appear in a subsequent issue of the Folk Art Messenger. These donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, and each donor will receive a receipt for the auction selling prices. Note: A portion of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Herbert W. Hemphill Jr. Memorial Art Fund, which purchases an art work each year for donation to a museum or university. This is the Folk Art Societys only fund-raising event each year; its success depends on your generous contributions and participation. |
| A packer and shipper will be available at the hotel to handle your purchases immediately following the auction. All auction items must be picked up at the conclusion of the auction, and the Folk Art Society assumes no responsibility for them.

| Cards and brochures for FASA member-dealers may be displayed at the registration tables by request. Such information received before September 20 will be placed in the conference packets. Brochures from other non-profit organizations and museums also are welcomed. Please send at least 150 copies to Chairman Betty-Carol Sellen at 6036 Parkers Creek Drive, Deale, MD 20751.

| There will be a Dealers Row if participation warrants. If dealers request a special area or adjacent rooms, the hotel will attempt to accommodate them. Participating dealers must be members of the Folk Art Society of America and be registered for the conference. | ||||||
| The deadline for conference registration is September 10. Registrations are not complete until full payment is received in the Folk Art Society office.
Payment by Visa or MasterCard is accepted, as well as by personal check. Charge orders may be sent by telephone or by utilizing the FASA secure Web site order form at www.folkart.org. Look under "Conference" for information and order form. Space for all events is limited, especially for the bus trips and house tours, and reservations will be made in the order received. If you are placed on a waiting list and do not get a place on a tour, your money will be refunded after the conference. If sufficient reservations are not made for a tour, it may be canceled. Until August 1, full refunds will be given for all cancellations. From August 1 to September 15, refunds will be given less a processing fee of $50 per person. After September 15, no refunds will be given for any reason. This rule is necessary because the society is financially and contractually obligated for the buses and catered events. |
